The Little Things
02:46
|
|||
I wake up in the morning and I stretch and then I yawn
I rub my eyes and figure out what planet I am on.
I tell my mom good morning, I help my brother with his shirt.
Cause being nice to other people, you know it never hurts.
I finish up my breakfast, yeah I swallow it all down
I fling the front door open and my blood begins to pound.
On my way to school I see a can upon the street
I put it in a recycling bin and dance upon my feet.
If you pick that trash up, don’t leave it where it lies
All the frogs will sing a happy song and the butterflies will fly
To make a cleaner future, it all starts with me and you
We make a difference every day with the little things we do.
I think about that can I found as I’m walking down the hall
I wonder what shape it will have when next it comes to call
Cause the future can be any shape, yeah any shape we see
And the only way to get there is to follow all your dreams
If you pick that trash up, don’t leave it where it lies
All the frogs will sing a happy song and the butterflies will fly
To make a cleaner future, it all starts with me and you
We make a difference every day with the little things we do.
If you pick that trash up, don’t leave it where it lies
All the frogs will sing a happy song and the butterflies will fly
To make a cleaner future, it all starts with me and you
We make a difference every day with the little things we do.
Yeah, we make a difference every day with the little things we do
We all make a difference every day with the little things we do.

Henrietta
03:31
|
|||
There was once a little earthworm in a garden in the dirt
Her name was Henrietta and it was her favorite place on earth.
There were orange carrots and yellow squash with long and thin green stripes
Bright flowers and tomatoes of every shape and size
Like earthworms everywhere she tunneled back and forth all day
in the dirt below the garden in an earthworm's special way
But Henrietta didn't feel special and she always wore a frown
She was sure that she’d be special if she lived above the ground
Back and forth the earthworms wiggled happy as could be
Except for Henrietta for she really could not see
how wiggling and making tunnels was special and way cool
There were so many other things that she would rather do.
If she were a bumblebee she could buzz around all day
pollinating the flowers in a bee's special way
And keep the flowers growing all beautiful and bright
That would be much cooler than tunneling all night
If she were a ladybug she could fly around all day
and eat the harmful bugs in her very special way
The veggies in the garden could ripen all day long
And the children who ate them would grow up big and strong.
Back and forth the earthworms wiggled happy as could be
Except for Henrietta for she really could not see
how wiggling and making tunnels was special and way cool
There were so many other things that she would rather do.
One morning Henrietta heard the sound of little feet
She wiggled up to the garden to see what she could see
“Eeewwww a worm!” cried a girl and she jumped into the sky
Henrietta curled into a ball and she began to cry,
“Children” said a kindly voice, "treat earthworms with great care
For they wiggle and their tunnels mix the soil and the air
Their poop then acts as fertilizer", and the kids all thought, “How cool.”
And turning to each other they cried out "Earthworms Rule!"
Back and forth the earthworm wiggled as happy as could be
For little Henrietta finally could see
how wiggling and making tunnels was special and quite cool
And there was nothing else that Henrietta would rather do.
And little Henrietta was as happy as could be
And little Henrietta was as happy as could be

Monkey House
02:30
|
|||
I saw you standing by the monkey house
your face pressed close to see.
Your scarf was dipped in mustard,
your pantleg soaked up to your knee.
You looked like an orangutan,
your hair so wild and free.
My heart went bump inside my chest,
I said, "That's the one for me."
I wanna go play in the monkey house
In the monkey house with you
We can swing in the trees with the monkeys
Or fling some monkey poo
We can do a little dance and somersault
(If something gets broken, it's not our fault)
I wanna go play with the monkeys
In the monkey house with you.
There's lot's of things to do in this world
Places to go and see
Some people like to ride their bike
And some just watch TV
There's some folks that talk all day long
And they're still talking while I'm singing this song
Then there's people like you and me
Who laugh and play and sing.
I wanna go play in the monkey house
In the monkey house with you
We can swing in the trees with the monkeys
Or fling some monkey poo
We can do a little dance and somersault
(If something gets broken, it's not our fault)
I wanna go play with the monkeys
In the monkey house with you.
Each morning I pop out of bed
And wonder what I'll do
I could draw some funny pictures
Or make some salty stew
I could crawl inside an anthill
And learn the things they do
The best things always happen
When I'm hanging out with you
I wanna go play in the monkey house
In the monkey house with you
We can swing in the trees with the monkeys
Or fling some monkey poo
We can do a little dance and somersault
(If something gets broken, it's not our fault)
I wanna go play with the monkeys
In the monkey house with you.
Yeah I wanna go play with the monkeys
In the monkey house with you.

Hot Potato
02:28
|
|||
In politics today, you know they talk and then they talk
I wonder if they simply like the sound of their own squawk
They say the climate’s changing, yeah they talk until they’re blue
But they’ve all got nothing to say is when you ask them what they’ll do
They say that’s a hot potato, pass it on, pass it on
Yeah that’s a hot potato, pass it on
Climate change is setting in, I guess we’ll all just learn to swim
Cause they keep on passing that hot potato on
Now the things causing this climate mess are more valuable than gold
They keep on pumping that oil and burning all that coal
Their wallets are too big to see the ground beneath their feet
And the only thing on their minds is what they’re gonna have to eat
They say that’s a hot potato, pass it on, pass it on
Oh that’s a hot potato, pass it on
Please just pass the Grey Poupon, until the polar caps are gone
They just keep on passing that potato on
Hey senator, are you gonna let the coal trains roll through our town?
Mmmm, nothing like a fresh roll. I like mine with jam!
What about that new pipeline they’re trying to build?
I like lines. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There’s nothing I like more than a nice straight line.
I said “Pipe” line.
White line? How will you even see it?
Pipeline!
Skype line? I think we’ve got a bad connection.
Pipe…Oh never mind. We don’t need you. We can fix the problems ourselves!
Well I’m not gonna pass that hot potato on, pass it on
No I’m not gonna pass that hot potato on
We can fix it you and me, a cleaner future we can see
Cause we’re not gonna pass that hot potato on
No, we’re not gonna pass these hot potatoes on!

Plastic Girl
02:39
|
|||
I was feeling so lonely yeah
Feeling so blue
I was feeling so lonely
Oh what could I do
I had the best idea
That I’ve ever had
I had the greatest idea
It was gonna be so rad
I got some pipe
And some glue
And some batteries too
I found some gum
Some old shoes
And a circuit board too
I made a plastic girl, Oh No!
And as plastic boy too, yeah
They’re oh so nice, Oh Yeah!
Much nicer than you
They’ll never fade, Oh no!
Or biodegrade
They’ll be by my side, Oh Yeah!
Forever and a day
Now all you hippies
Might think that plastic’s not cool
But my plastic friends
They never went to school
They don’t worry
About pollution we leave
Cause my plastic friends
They don’t need to breathe
I got some pipe
And some glue
And some batteries too
I found some gum
Some old shoes
And a circuit board too
I made a plastic girl, Oh No!
And as plastic boy too, yeah
They’re oh so nice, Oh Yeah!
Much nicer than you
They’ll never fade, Oh no!
Or biodegrade
They’ll be by my side, Oh Yeah!
Forever and a day
